Why this book and why now?
The original idea came about when Lee Winter was bemoaning the lack of summer Christmas books. I hadn’t planned on writing another book in the same universe, but by the time I promised Lee I would write one I had a whole plot in my head. Lee very kindly ‘aussied’ this book for me. The timing is simple – it’s Christmas!
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
I was going to give them the HEA once they met back up again, but it didn’t turn out quite so easily for them.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
I would get along with them both. Cherri because she’s down to earth, and Ettia because she thinks like I do.
Do your character names have special significance or meaning?
Yes, both are the names of the Christmas plant Poinsettia.
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
Cherri would binge watch Top Gear, a TV show about cars and other vehicles. Ettia would binge watch Supernanny wanting to be the best mum she can possibly be.
What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?
Cherri’s would be sleigh repair manual and Ettia’s would be The Brutal Truth by Lee Winter as there’s an Australian main character and she wants to learn the lingo.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
All I Want For Christmas Is You – Cherri’s met the love of her life. She hasn’t celebrated Christmas properly before and now she gets everything but all she wants is Ettia.
