Author Caren J. Werlinger recommends The Tell Tale by Clare Ashton

Welcome to Authors Getting Rec’d! Each week, we’ll bring you a new sapphic book recommendation from a favorite sapphic author. Find out what authors are reading and why, plus read about the personal connections between authors and books.

This week, Caren J. Werlinger, who is good friends with Clare Ashton, explains why The Tell Tale is a must read.

When Caren first saw The Tell Tale, she loved the cover and the blurb, and since she knew she’d enjoyed other work from this author, she decided to give it a go. This sapphic mystery is now one of her favorites.

Let’s hear more from Caren about why The Tell Tale is a must read:

This story was so atmospheric – the 70s, the creepy fog, the simultaneous charm and threat of a tiny village that won’t allow deviations from societal roles. I loved the descriptions of the Welsh countryside. The characters were well-drawn and believable. I loved everything about this novel.

Thank you, Caren, for sharing what book is on your nightstand right now and paying it forward by showing some book love to a fellow SapphFic author!

Even though Caren was very generous by submitting this recommendation without wanting to promote any of her own books, we’d like to share that Caren’s book When the Stars Sang is on sale through February 17, 2023 for only 99c! You can check out the link below.
