It’s a snowy weekend at IHS headquarters, meaning it’s the perfect time to curl up with a book!

Saturdays are when we round up all the sapphic book news from the previous week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal lesfic directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good women loving women book. What could be better?

For the third installment of Sapphic Books in the Wild, TB & Miranda went roadtripping with a book by Lucy Bexley. They had the privilege of sharing a table with Lucy at All She Wrote Books last year. Lucy was also part of the Pride Collection. Find out which book they brought along at the bottom of this post!

We hit an exciting milestone for the BookFinder this past week with the addition of our 3,000th book! And it just so happened that it was TB’s latest Lizzie book, A Woman in Hiding. Coincidence? Actually, yes. If you subscribe to TB’s author newsletter, you know how bad she is at numbers.

We launched the BookFinder back in October with a mission to be as inclusive as possible. Today, the database contains more than 3,050 sapphic books! Odds are we have something you haven’t read yet. Or just amuse yourself by entering wacky combinations to see if anyone has written the book.

Where the heck was TB?

TB loves exploring places near and far, so we’ve created a weekly game where TB goes on an adventure, snaps some photos, and then lets you guess her location.

To answer last week’s mystery, 45% of you were right. I was in Newburyport last time. Also, 37% of you guessed I got a parking ticket because Miranda wasn’t with me. I’m actually extremely responsible when it comes to paying for parking after I learned the hard way you have to pay for parking wherever you are in New England. My first year back in 2006 was expensive!

Now for this week’s guessing game.

The weather hasn’t been great this past week, so Miranda and I didn’t venture far from home, but we went to one of our favorite places for lunch. It happens to be very historic.

Here are some facts about the place.

1. The restaurant resides in one of the oldest hotels in the United States, and the original part of the building was constructed in 1716.

2. It’s located in Concord, Massachusetts.

3. It’s half a mile from where the “Shot heard ’round the world” took place on April 19th, 1775, which was the start of the American Revolutionary war. (The inn even served as a hospital during the war.)

4. Henry David Thoreau’s grandfather built the inn’s eastern section and Henry’s father inherited it in 1801. Thoreau later resided there for 2 years while attending Harvard University.

5. The inn has hosted many notable people in history including: Jacqueline Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Shirley Temple, Queen Noor of Jordan, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Bryan Cranston.

6. Room 24, which served as an operating room during the Revolutionary War, is reportedly haunted by the many soldiers who died there.
