Mission Book Possible, NaNo, Mega Sale Deadline, and More

Dear Authors, can you believe it’s November?

Which means National Novel Writing Month has officially kicked off. If you want to register officially to participate via the NaNoWriMo organization (which is not affiliated with IHS, and you absolutely do not need to do that to participate in our November writing events), you can find more information here. It’s free, and they do have some nice goodies for participants, like discounts on popular author tools, so if you’ve had your eye on Scrivener, ProWriting Aid, or Plottr (to name just a few), it’s worth checking them out.

Lots more topics to cover today, so let’s get to it!

Graphic of Mission Book Possible

The BookFinder is almost a month old!

With more than 1,680 books already in this new database, we wanted to create a fun way to help readers get acquainted with it.

Each day in November, we’re going to provide readers with a sapphic book finding mission. For example, here’s day 1. Four prizes of a $15 Amazon gift card will be awarded during the month on Wednesdays, beginning next week, November 9.

Here’s how it’ll work:

Many of you already know that TB’s a history nut, so she’s been digging into historical happenings for each day in November to inspire the daily book-finding missions.

Once a day, I Heart SapphFic will share the day’s mission in the IHS Reader Group on Facebook. Readers will check the I Heart SapphFic Bookfinder for a book that fulfills the mission, and then report back to the Facebook group with a link to that book on the IHS website.

If you haven’t submitted your books to be added to the database, we highly recommend doing so. Here’s the submission form.

IHS Sale GraphicNovember IHS Mega Sale Deadline is November 14!

Have you submitted your book(s) yet? These sales are very popular with readers, so don’t miss out!

The Mega Sale will run from Nov 25 through Nov 29.

There are three price points: $0.99, $1.99, $2.99

Click here for the submission form.

If the book(s) is already in the IHS BookFinder, click here for the short form.

It’s already day 2 of Nano!

Are you keeping up with your word count?

TB’s failed at Nano before, but this time she’s determined to be as successful as possible. And honest. Miranda and Adrian had a talking to TB about reporting her actual word count each day. TB can be kinda competitive and hates to lose, but Miranda and Adrian have explained that inflating word counts is bad. Very naughty, in fact.

The IHS team is here to help keep you accountable with Zoom writing sprints.  Adrian J. Smith, TB Markinson, and Miranda MacLeod will be there, and we hope you’ll join us! The Zoom links are available in the Author Forum on Facebook.
