Why this book and why now?
I have a lot of friends in law enforcement and hearing their frustration when criminals get off on technicalities got to me. I just started wondering what would people do if there was a vigilante who stood up for children when the system failed them. One night after listening to how another kid was abused and the parent didn’t feel any remorse I was mad. I just started writing.
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
The ending. I can’t say much without giving it away but not even I saw it coming.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
Absolutely. The main characters have a real respect for their jobs and their moral character sets them as people you can trust.
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
Leverage because sometimes it’s fun to watch the bad guys be portrayed as the good guys.
What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?
Deal with the Devil by Ali Vali. They would love to follow the strategic way the main character does everything.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
“Bitch” by Meredith Brooks. It speaks to how much people can change and just how fast it can happen.
