TB is ready to collapse

TB has this amazing ability to push herself to get a big project done, but once it starts, she ends up collapsing.

Summer 2023 has been a prime example. Since June here are some of the largers projects TB has managed:

  • Sapphic Trailblazers during Pride
  • Road trip to GCLS (driving over 4,000 miles)
  • 3 days in NYC for book research
  • Christmas in July (a free book event that ended late Wednesday night)
  • Finished a draft of the latest Lizzie novella (now with the editor)
  • 1 day in Nantucket with Miranda, who is researching for a book she’s writing this fall

The Nantucket trip was on Wednesday, July 26. Miranda and TB left at 5am and got home at 9pm. On the drive home from Cape Cod after getting off the ferry, TB whined the entire drive home. Miranda was driving, fortunately. Also, Miranda didn’t whine and was up early on July 27, working, which is more proof how different their personalities are.

TB wants to spend a week in bed, but sadly her work schedule only allowed for sleeping in until 9am after Nantucket day, after getting out of bed for 30 minutes at 5am to remove all the free links for the books involved in Christmas in July, which ended late on July 26.

All of which is to say that if you’ve sent TB an email in the past 48 hours, don’t be alarmed if she doesn’t respond right away. She’s still whining…

NOW FOR FRIDAY FUN!

5 Random Things Graphic

5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.

Here are five random facts about Donna Jay.

1. I have a bilateral uterus – and two cervixes!

2. I used to play the saxophone. I didn’t get any calls to join bands, though.

3. I have five tattoos, and they’re not small. A lot of people are surprised to learn that, for some reason. Must be my innocent face.

4. I played Rugby when I lived in Calgary, but I nowadays, I’d rather be writing than watching (or playing) sports.

5. I had my motorbike licence before I could drive a car.
