After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic author L.M. Bennett shares a Caturday photo of two adorable kitties who might possibly be plotting world domination!

One of the things we love about the weekly lesfic author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Jamey Moody’s dog with the book Until We Weren’t.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of TB and Miranda’s trip to Hudson Valley in New York to see pumpkins galore.

Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s post, it’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. I got started in my writing career while working as an intern/reporter at a video game journalism site.
2. In 2024, I was nominated for a Goldie award for my debut YA novel.
3. I’ve lived in several different places, including Oregon, New York, and Georgia.
4. I ended up doing a lot of research on ghosts and spirits across different cultures in preparation for my new YA paranormal mystery/romantasy book.
5. My MFA thesis film screened at the 16th annual Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Chloe Spencer!

Check out Haunting Melody, Chloe Spencer’s new release!

Cover of Haunting Melody

A Mysterious Island Town. Forbidden Love. And A Whole Lotta Ghosts.

From the author of Monstersona comes a haunting queer young adult novel, with themes of mental health and PTSD, and a thrilling mystery at its core.

Failure is a sinister song. One that Melody Myere is all too familiar with.

The only child of an acclaimed ghost hunter couple, Melody’s First Sacred Hunt should have been a walk in the park. All she needed to do was catch a ghost, like she’s done all her life. But when an unexpected wraith showed up causing havoc, Melody was left scarred and embarrassed.

Suffering from depression and PTSD post-hunt, Melody relocates to the sleepy island town of Murkmore, where her parents have been tasked with capturing the ghost responsible for a series of grisly deaths. Determined to prove herself, and despite her parents’ protests, Melody sets out to capture the specter on her own.

When a haunting song lures Melody to an abandoned theater, she encounters a recently deceased musical prodigy by the name of Cyrus. All signs point to Cyrus being the killer, but Melody isn’t so sure, suspecting something more discordant is afoot.

Haunted by more than just a sinister song, Melody must learn to trust her instincts to catch the killer and prove herself before it’s time to face the music.

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels!

TB here.

Miranda and I were able to get away a couple of weekends ago to visit one of our new favorite areas, Hudson Valley in New York. More specifically, Tarrytown and the little village of Sleepy Hollow.

One of the highlights was going to the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. There are thousands of hand-carved pumpkins creating fantastic works of art. We loved the variety. There was an octopus, dinosaurs, Lochness monster, tulips, sunflowers, along with scary themes, and so much more. It was such a fantastic night and even the light rain couldn’t put a damper on the fun.

Here are some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!
