Why this book and why now?
This book idea started when my wife was consistently asking me to write our story. We have an interesting back story, and she’s been adamant that it deserves a book. I started it, but had trouble writing a true autobiography, so instead, I hatched this idea of a fictional memoir to cover the life of someone sort of like me, but different, and with different experiences. So while there are bits and pieces of me in Debra, she is 98% fictional.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
I think Debra and I would get along wonderfully, since she was originally inspired by a failed attempt at an autobiography. But then again, maybe we’d be too much alike to get along. Opposites attract, right?
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
I think Debra would love Downton Abbey because I suspect she’d be into the historical fiction genre.
What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?
I think her favorite book would be Little Women. Jo would be her favorite, of course.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
Indigo Girls (because, of course!) Galileo because it’s a good old fashioned singalong!
