As the year comes to a close, we have one burning question for book lovers everywhere: What were your top 5 sapphic reads of 2024?

Luckily our readers like to share! We look forward to passing along these recommendations to you daily into the new year.

It’s not too late to submit your own top reads and get in on the fun. Click here for the form. Our only rules are that authors may not submit their own books and your list needs to be new-to-you books that were read (not necessarily published) in 2024.

Here are Pat’s top sapphic reads of 2024:

1. The No Kiss Contract by Nan Campbell

An upper echelon fake relationship romance. It was my first book by Nan Campbell. When I finished it, I immediately bought her entire catalog.

2. The Big Tow by Ann McMan

This author never lets me down. A lawyer moonlighting as a “repo man” – I mean really??? If you liked Hoosier Daddy, you’ll love this one.

3. Birds of a Feather by Laina Villeneuve

Another quirky character study – this one battles the “ostentation of peacocks” that reside in her grandfather’s neighborhood. A sweet romance about being yourself and finding the one you were meant for.

4. The Apple Diary by Gerri Hill

It’s a very well constructed dual-timeline love story. But, of course it is – Gerri Hill wrote it. Nuff said.

5. Tempting Olivia by Clare Ashton

The sequel to the excellent Meeting Millie. This time with an Ice Queen divorce lawyer and her celebrity client. Yes ma’am, may I have another!

Meet Pat

I’m a Science/Medical PhD who was forced to retire due to Long-COVID. I knew going into 2024 that it was most likely “gonna be a rough one,” so I committed to only read books that brought me joy – and these 5 books definitely brought it!
