Here are Maria’s top sapphic reads of 2024:
1. The Unfinished Line by Jen Lyon
This book crushed my heart in a good way and I could hardly think about anything else for weeks after finishing this book. The story, the characters and everything else amazing.
2. The Piano in the Tree by Jo Havens
The love between Polly and Toks, the music, the incident that kept them apart for 16 years and the work to finally get back together. I really recommend this book to everyone that wants a book that both crushes you and then put you back together in such an amazing way.
3. Bloom Town: Genesis by Ally North
I was blown away by this first book in a two book series. I loved the whole wild west setting and the whole story is fantastic. On top of that the fire between Abby and Joey is above almost everything I have ever read before. All side characters so well defined and the love between Joey, Lewis and the kids endearing.
4. Reverence by Milena McKay
The whole setting with ballet dancers, 1980’s and Paris makes the whole story so enticing.
On top of the fantastic story settings, I can just gush over the language, the romance, the angst and the amazing main and side characters. I will remember and think about this story for a very long time.
5. Saving Graces by Ruby Landers
This is the 3rd book in the amazing Grace Notes series. I loved the backstory elements in the book where I really got to know Savannah and Rosalie. The main love story in this book between Rosalie and Kinsey was another amazing one even if so much angst involved. I feel so happy with this third book wrap-up.
