Why this book and why now?
Honestly, my hyperfixation drive latched onto this story idea and didn’t release me until it was complete.
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
Well, to start, this book wasn’t even supposed to have romance in it let alone a throuple. I also accidentally killed a character a couple of times and had to re-write scenes because I didn’t want her to die.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
I think yes if they didn’t know that I’m responsible for their trauma. I give all of my characters little bits of myself and I think the parts I’ve given to these characters would work well with me as a whole.
How does it feel to finally share this book with readers?
Exciting and anxiety-inducing all at once.
What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?
Red would probably pick three weapons, or her two mates and one weapon. Alice would bring her camera, her laptop, and her medication. (and she might be secretly happy for the isolation)
Were there any scenes or characters that surprised you as you wrote?
Yes! So many scenes and characters, they really got away from me quite a bit. There was a lot of wrangling to be done.
Which character was the most fun to write, and which was the hardest?
I had the most fun writing Red and the most difficulty writing Alice.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
I’ve been quite attached to the song Goodnight Sleep Tight by TIMMS for Alice because it really does a lovely job of matching her nightmares and trauma.
If your book had a scent, what would it smell like?
A moss covered forest after a fresh rain
Do you outline your books in detail, or do you prefer to discover the story as you write?
Discover as I write, pantser all the way here
Do you have any writing rituals or habits?
I have a word tracker in a spreadsheet I’ve made and it really helps keep me quite motivated.
