Guess the Author GraphicBefore we get to today’s Friday Feels Fun post, it’s time for Guess the Author

Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.

Here is today’s clue:

Clue #5: Something I Had to Look Up While Writing my Books: “How long does it take to bleed out from a magically-inflicted chest wound?”

Followed closely by: “Do serpents technically hiss in a way that can form words?” and “What’s the correct order of royalty when everyone’s also magical?”

My search history is now 90% how to build a world from scratch, 5% moon phases, and 5% panicked spelling checks for made-up words I invented at 1 a.m. The real magic? Remembering what I named a tavern on page 4 by the time I got to page 200.

5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.

Here are five random facts about Frances M. Thompson.

1. Originally from London, UK, I now live in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

2. I am a spoonie! I have two chronic illnesses – Ménière’s Disease and chronic vestibular migraine.

3. I have a library of over 100 bisexual books! I’m determined to collect all the key non-fiction and hundreds of fiction books about bisexuality so we can never be erased!

Pet of the Week!

Meet Charlie "Char-Lee" and Maroon Fiverr (RuRu) Lee two dogs

Meet Charlie “Char-Lee” and Maroon Fiverr (RuRu) Lee! These pictures perfectly highlight just how much our three fur babies have their mommies—Aunt Georgia Lee and W.L. Tracy—wrapped around their little paws. 😂 One day while out shopping, we came across this baby tent at the mall and instantly knew it was the perfect hideaway for them. Now, it’s their personal little retreat! Most of the time, Char-Lee and RuRu Lee are the ones cozied up in it together, while their elder brother, Bear Lee, prefers to enjoy his solitude. But on a good day—if he’s feeling generous—he’ll let Char-Lee join him. What you don’t see in the pictures is their miniature sofa, making their setup basically “glamping” in the middle of our living room. They’ve got the ultimate VIP lounge, and honestly? They know they run the house. Submitted by Aunt Georgia Lee, a sapphic author.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE

It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.

This week’s good news involves LGBTQ+ elected officials.

The number of openly LGBTQ+ elected officials in the U.S. continued to rise over the past year, extending a steady upward trend that began during the Trump administration, according to a new report.

The LGBTQ+ Victory Institute’s annual Out for America report tracks openly LGBTQ+ elected officials across all levels of government. This year’s findings show a 2.4% increase in representation from June 2024 to May 2025 and a 198% increase since the report was first introduced in 2017, during Donald Trump’s first term.

That’s all for today.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
