What inspired you to write lesbian fiction? Was it personal experiences, a favorite book or movie, or a desire to see more representation?

My cute girlfriend, I write obsessively about her

Fanfiction. I started out writing fruit basket(manga) fanfics where the rat and the cat were lovers

Do you identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, and how does your identity influence your storytelling?

I'm non-binary and love exploring diverse pairings. Highlighting each character's unique traits adds depth to my stories, making the writing process an endlessly rewarding experience.

I am non-binary, so I am entirely focused on writing het romances forever to make up for it.

I am non-binary, however, when I write, I write purely through the lens of the character I create regardless of my own sexuality or life experience.

I am non-binary, and so I mainly write about non-binary experiences because, in my world, binaries do not exist!

What are your favorite tropes in lesbian fiction? Enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, slow burns, second chances?

Enemies to lovers - all that fighting and bickering has to lead to something right? I love making sure that something ends up in a steamy bedroom scene

Fake Dating - Because who doesn’t love a little K-Drama energy in their stories?

Love Across Time - because there is nothing more fun than going to the library and reading for hours about a time before the 90s, only to come away more feminist than I was when I started researching

Friends to lovers - It is for me the hardest one to make work, and I love a challenge

How do you approach writing your stories? Do you start with characters, a plot, or a specific scene? How long does it usually take you to complete a book?

I usually go to the library and spend countless hours researching and hyper-focusing on a topic or thing

I google “top-ten-things-lesbians-like” and write stories based on each trope

I usually come up with my ideas randomly. Sometimes from a conversation with a friend or my girlfriend, after watching a documentary about the ocean, or even while doing laundry

I beg my girlfriend, who is much older, hotter, and smarter than me, to tell me what to write, and then I write it

What is your philosophy on representation? Are you focused on diversity within the LGBTQ+ spectrum, intersectionality, or exploring nontraditional relationships?

Love, heartbreak, resilience, and joy are human experiences that transcend labels, and I believe queer narratives should have space in every genre, so I focus on that and not the spectrum they are on

I love diversity. I grew up watching so many heteronormative stereotypes, I want to branch out as far as their mind can go. I want my readers to feel like my books are safe spaces where they can see themselves represented, showing that queer people deserve to be heroes, lovers, working-class and upper-class weirdos, just like everyone else

I want to represent things as close to the ideal as possible, so a fixed ratio of butches to femmes so that everyone gets a piece

I’m just here writing smut, leave me alone

Do you have a favorite character from your own stories or from other works of lesbian fiction? Why do they resonate with you?

Kim Young Soo from “Likes and Dried Lavender” - her guts and drive really inspire me, I spend a lot of my time laughing and gushing over how cool I think she is while I am writing her scenes.

Christin Fairfield from “I’m Broke, can I pay for the room with my body”, her passion for cooking, and her drive to keep doing better and going harder at life inspire me to keep writing and working hard on myself as well.

Amber from “I’m Broke, can I pay for the room with my body” is a short queen with a secret bad attitude and is attracted to people who are technically out of her league, not that she cares.

Maze Star Fernandez from “Likes and Dried Lavender” because who doesn’t love an obsessive gamer girl?

What books, movies, TV shows, or real-life events have influenced your writing? Do you draw on cultural or personal experiences?

I binge-watch Marvel movies to feel a deep sense of drama and theoretical elements so that my stories are action-packed and unhinged

I binge-watch the L-word until my eyes bleed, and then I binge-watch it again

I studied literature and history in school and have since then read extensively on the topic of creative writing(it didn’t really fix my spelling problems, though, sorry! )., so I often fall back on studying a wide range of topics to draw inspiration. Nonfiction and current affairs are strong influencing factors in my work…

I binge-watch My Hero Academia and imagine every character as a girl and draw inspiration from shipping Midoriya and Bakugo as girls together
