As the year comes to a close, we have one burning question for book lovers everywhere: What were your top 5 sapphic reads of 2025?

Luckily our readers like to share! We look forward to passing along these recommendations to you daily into the new year.

It’s not too late to submit your own top reads and get in on the fun. Click here for the form. Our only rules are that authors may not submit their own books and your list needs to be new-to-you books that were read (not necessarily published) in 2025.

Here are Donna’s top sapphic reads of 2025:

1. Number Six by Lee Winter

Winter makes sure we know her characters well and here we revisit Ottie and Monique, from Villians and Hotel Queens. Although Winter is brilliant at the Ice Queen trope here we reach into the ‘morally gray’ plus an older character. A great read

2. Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid

A poignant love story written through the eyes of the astronaut programme at NASA in the 80s. A heartfelt tale of its time with a great love for Ground Control to Major Tom running in the back of my mind.

3. The Falcon and the Flame by Jolie Dvorak

A British spy sent to assassinate and an Arabian Princess who is a reluctant ruler. Kill or be killed. A wonderful sapphic James Bond with witty passionate dialogue.

4. Learning Curves by Rachel Lacey

I loved the flow of this academic tale. To have a crysh on your professor as a student and then meet again as a colleague can be dire or a dream. The women in Art History is well researched and Lacey gives us a fantastic epilogue.

5. Book Lovers by TB Markinson and Miranda MacLeod

Brilliant building on Jane Austin’s life in Bath.. Well researched. Witty dialogue. A fun relationship. I even read 3 Jane Austin novels as a spin-off.
