December 20 Edition: Alicia Gael, 11 Books on Sale, Guess the Author Reveal, Caturday, and More!

SapphFic Mischief Saturday Morning Graphic
Happy weekend!

Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?

In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.

Sapphic author Emma Sterner-Radley shares a Caturday photo of her kitty in a not so lady like pose.

One of the things we love about the weekly author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Alicia Gael with Return to Morro Harbor.

If you’re looking for something to read this weekend, below you’ll find 11 books on sale.

Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos from TB and Miranda’s visit to a holiday festival in Grafton, Vermont.

We’re grateful to Nicole Pyland for sponsoring today’s post. Please check out December.

Guess the Author GraphicIt’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!

Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.

Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:

1. I was obsessed with the Mickey Mouse Club television show as a child. I had a poster on my bedroom wall and insisted on watching it every day. I had my own little Mickey Mouse chair to sit in while wearing my mouse ears.

2. I know what all the different forks, knives, and spoons in antique silverware sets are for (and if I don’t, I will make something up and say it confidently so people will just assume it’s true).

3. I visited Berlin the summer after the Berlin Wall came down and stayed in a campground where a portion of the wall was still standing just a few yards from my tent. People had knocked big holes in it and I climbed through. The abandoned guard towers and the sandy ground of “no man’s land” was one of the most chilling sights I’ve seen. People who had stayed in that same campground the year before reported hearing gunfire in the middle of the night coming from beyond the wall.

4. My favorite book series of all time is the Emily series by L.M. Montgomery. I first read them in fourth grade when a friend loaned them to me, but she (gasp!) tore out the last chapter of the final book to keep me from knowing how it ended (because she was obviously not a very good friend), so my grandma bought the box set for me that summer. I’ve read all three books at least a dozen times.

5. I love cats. I got my first cat when I was 6 or 7 years old and named her Special, because apparently when I was told I should choose a special name for her, I took it very literally.

Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…

This week’s author is Miranda MacLeod!

Check out Heartbeats, Miranda MacLeod’s new release!

Cover of Heartbeats

If swoon-worthy doctors, heart-stopping chemistry, and medical drama are your thing, this collection was made for you.

For the first time ever, TB Markinson and Miranda MacLeod are teaming up to bring you a special box set featuring their individual best-selling medical romances.

Hearts in Motion by Miranda MacLeod

After the tragic death of a young couple leaves a baby boy without parents, two aunts from opposite sides of the family jointly become the child’s primary caregivers. Cooperation and a common purpose could lead to love and the creation of a new family together, but not if impulsive decisions and unsavory lawyers tear them apart. Can love blossom from grief?

Reservations of the Heart by TB Markinson

Can two wounded women who believe love is the last thing they want overcome their fears to find healing? When Stella and Aurora unexpectedly come together, sparks fly. Neither is looking for a relationship, but what they discover in one another is so much more than a physical connection.

Packed with passion, healing, and a healthy dose of heart, these medical romances are the perfect prescription for your next binge read.

Get Heartbeats here.

Miranda MacLeod’s bio:

Miranda MacLeod lives in New England and writes heartfelt romances and romantic comedies featuring witty and charmingly flawed women who love women. Before becoming a writer, she spent way too many years in graduate school, made costumes for professional theater and film, and held temp jobs in just about every office building in downtown Boston.

The next Guess the Author will start on January 5, 2026!

Return to Morro Harbor by Alicia Gael picture

Have you read Return to Morro Harbor by Alicia Gael yet? Here’s the tagline: Devin Davis swore she’d never return to her hometown, but her father’s death forces her return and a confrontation with her past, and that includes Keri Stone.

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels!

Two weekends ago, we went to Grafton, Vermont for a holiday festival that included a dog parade and a Gingerbread house display at the local library. There were also Christmas trees, a craft fair, homemade soups, and apple pie that students made. It was a fabulous day!

Here are some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend!
