5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.
Here are five random facts about Iris Blythe Grey.
1. I realized I was aggressively gay the moment Lucy Diamond appeared on screen in D.E.B.S.. I didn’t want to be her—I wanted to kiss her.
2. I once ate an entire wheel of brie while crying over a fictional breakup I wrote myself. The brie helped. The breakup? Still hurts.
3. I have a deeply irrational fear of swans. They look elegant, but I know they’d throw hands if they had them.
4. I own 17 notebooks and write exclusively in the Notes app like the chaotic sapphic I am.
5. I’ve watched Imagine Me & You so many times I could quote the entire “you’re a bad person” scene by heart. Enemies to lovers, British edition, with florals? Yes please.
Have you read Eight Minutes to Fall (Kind of) yet?

Before buying a “free” book, please ensure it’s free in your marketplace. Amazon has a habit of changing the price of permafree titles in stores outside of the US. Please know this it out of the author’s control and we are unable to check prices in all Amazon stores.
Some of the books are only free today, February 27, 2026, so don’t miss out!

Meet Woodsley! I often think my dog has a better life than I do. She sleeps on an orthopaedic pillow and has her own human-sized couch. But she’s worth it, she’s a 5 year old Australian shepherd who love cuddles as much as she loves food. Submitted by K. Kenley, a sapphic author.
Today’s post is also sponsored by Marie Cardno. Please check out the Monster Girlfriend Series.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves a baby.
Thirty-year-old transgender man Lio Cundiff is being praised for his bravery after diving into the icy waters of Chicago’s Lake Michigan to rescue a baby when a powerful gust of wind pushed the child’s stroller into the lake. Cundiff said he heard the mother’s screams and saw that she appeared paralyzed with shock.
He grabbed onto the stroller, where the 8-month-old girl was secured, and stayed afloat with it for several minutes. According to Cundiff, they slipped beneath the surface a few times before being guided to a ladder and pulled to safety. They were then taken to separate hospitals by ambulance, and both are said to be in stable condition.
A hero!
Read about it here.
That’s all for today.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
