Old feelings become hard to ignore when two best friends come home for Christmas.

Jamie Matheson is trying her best – but every effort she makes to try and get her life on track only seems to derail it further. Her latest break-up has been particularly disastrous. It turns out there’s no good way to end a situationship with your landlord’s daughter.

Newly evicted, Jamie and her best friend, Georgia, have no choice but to vacate London and return to their rural English hometown for Christmas early. Mildon has little to offer in the way of entertainment – aside from one pub, and the girl who works behind the bar.

But Alice is off-limits. Jamie has known her since childhood, and would never risk their friendship on something as stupid as a little crush. Besides, she has other things she should be focusing on, like finding a place to live and figuring out what she’s going to do with her life.

The longer she’s in Mildon, though, the more difficult it becomes to keep her distance. When a new opportunity forces them to spend more time together, Jamie finds herself questioning everything.

She needs to get out of Mildon now, before she does something incredibly stupid. Everything she touches falls apart – but this one time, could it be worth it?
