To Unring the BELL
By JD Lorien
Can love transcend time itself?
Can love be strong enough to transcend time itself?
Addie Grantham hasn’t seen her father since the day she was born, when he vanished for hours, then barreled into the hospital room ranting about time and fate. Her whole life has been marked by the tragedy of that day, and the fear that she might one day succumb to the same illness.
But the simple, calm life she has built for herself, filled with work and video games, is interrupted by a bizarre package from her estranged father, along with a note that says:
Adeline,
I don’t know how to express the depth of my regret for everything we’ve lost.
You must find Dorian.
Tell her she was right. I was the problem all along.
What Addie learns about her father’s fate propels her on a baffling quest to find answers to increasingly impossible questions.
Who is Dorian, and what did she have to do with her father’s work? Or with his death? Why does she look at Addie like she knows her? How could she remember details of a life together that they never lived?
Is this all a game – a trick to uncover the mystery of her father’s work? Or is the truth beyond anything she would have ever allowed herself to imagine?
What really happened on the day she was born? Is there such a thing as fated love, and soulmates? Or is she finally losing touch with reality, as he did?
Why can’t Addie escape the feeling, deep within her mind, that somehow this is all her own fault? And if it is, then, in order to save her impossible lover, what price will Addie have to pay To Unring the BELL?
