Meet Jaxon! Jaxon is a five year old labradoodle who enjoys long walks on the beach, is a master at long-suffering sighs, and has a knack for removing tags from shirts without leaving a hole. His favorite pastime is sitting on the screened in porch and admiring the wildlife which inevitably leads to vocal outbursts of the annoying kind. Jaxon enjoys certain treats, destroying toys, and snuggling with his mommies as often as possible. Submitted by Jennabeebs79, a sapphic reader.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves gay flamingos.
Zoo staff in Devon report that a pair of same-sex flamingos has successfully hatched an egg.
Paignton Zoo announced new arrivals of Chilean flamingo chicks, the first babies since 2018. The chicks are the offspring of several flamingo pairs, including Curtis and Arthur, a same-sex pair named by the public earlier this year.
It’s likely the egg was abandoned before being adopted by Curtis and Arthur. Birds curator Pete Smallbones said: “We aren’t entirely sure how this has come about, although it is a known phenomenon in Chilean flamingos, as well as other bird flocks” to have same sex pairings.
We’re proud of Curtis and Arthur for stepping up and we wish this queer family well!
Read more about it here and to see an adorable photo.
That’s all for today.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
