Here are Lara’s top sapphic reads of 2024:

1. Her Royal Happiness by Lola Keeley

I love the trope of princess/commoner having a meet ugly and then still ending up falling in love. The characters are all so well-written and there is a bit of criticism of the British Royal family in between the lines, I liked that.

2. Backwards to Oregon by Jae

The main appeal of this book is that during these times the book is set in, there is a woman disguising as a man to get her way in life, proving that she even is so much better than actual men because it wasn’t possible any other way to love the life she wanted and I like stories like that.

3. The Cottage by Gerri Hill

No other book that was just that short has ever made me feel all the feels like that, I smiled and cried and was giddy and heartbroken all at the same.

4. The Target by Gerri Hill

A really thrilling book, I couldn’t stop reading!

5. Perfect Rhythm by Jae

The first book I read that dealt with asexuality and explained it really well and had very believable characters, I loved it.
