Queer News Worth Clicking Graphic

TB is determined to spread good rainbow news during 2024, which let’s face, is going to be a rough year. There are a lot of elections all over the world, which means we’re in for a lot of scaremongering. While it’s important to stay informed, it’s also vital not to lose sight of all the kindness in the world. Below are the happy queer stories that made TB smile this week. They’re queer news links worth clicking!

Cyndi Lauper is our Advocate of the year: ‘Hon, I’m a family member’ — We love her!

Legendary LGBTQ+ ally David Tennant breaks the internet with another amazing trans rights t-shirt — So sweet (it’s the 3rd picture in the carousal of photos)!

Soldier has ceremonial badge restored after being jailed and discharged for gay kiss in 1983 — Better late than never!

A beloved historic gay bar is about to spread into a second home — Wonderful, we need more queer spaces!

How journalist Imara Jones is fighting anti-trans narratives with her own media company — Such beautiful bravery!

Heifer the judge-y cat

This is Heifer and she is here to judge you. Submitted by Deb, a sapphic reader.

Martha Miller with Torrid Summer

Have you read Torrid Summer by Martha Miller yet? Here’s the tagline: What happens when two people who should never fall in love–fall in love.

TB and Miranda love exploring places near and far, almost as much as they love a good sapphic book. Follow them on their travels and find out what sapphic books they’ve brought along!

TB here.

A couple of weekends ago, Miranda and went for a daytrip to Connecticut to visit a house I’d been dying to see for a couple of years. But I could never get away on the days it was open. It seemed every time I went to the Historic New England website I’d see a photo of Roseland Cottage, but it was always closed. The pinkness always pulled me in. I love pink! Granted, I was probably looking during the winter months when most of the houses are shuttered.

When summer hits, I try to see as many of the places I’d been looking at all winter.

Then I got a newsletter from the website and they were having a free day. Not only that, Miranda and I actually had time that day to visit. It was fate I tell you.

The house is absolutely stunning inside and our guide was informative and funny. Also, I got a membership for Historic New England. I absolutely love visiting these houses and I want to help the peeps keep them preserved for future generations.

Here are some photos, including a bowling alley that President Grant used on a visit.

Happy Pride!

Miranda & TB
