Why this book and why now?

I publish a Christmas romance each year, and this one was inspired by a mix of various movies, including The Polar Express which we had been watching a few times with our niece. One day I was waiting for my wife in the mall (that was all decked out for Christmas), and I started writing the first scene.

Do your character names have special significance or meaning?

I chose Sabrina for the actress because it’s a name I associate with Old Hollywood glamour, but for most of my characters, it’s more about whether the name feels right.

What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

A pen and a notebook, and a special Christmas ornament. Writing utensils, because Sabrina cares about stories. She would want to come up with new ones and also document her time there. The ornament to remind her of all the reasons to make it home!

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

It would be a hot chocolate with whipped cream (a shot of Baileys is optional), by the fireplace, to go all in on the Christmas theme and tropes. For Sabrina it’s about both a childhood memory (boarding the train with her parents), and her adult life, a sweet romantic experience with Misty.
