Why this book and why now?

I needed to write something light-hearted and it cheered me up. Writing about my favourite characters having fun is a joy. There is too much angst and trying times in the real world, and writing in their world is a blast. I have so much fun writing about Zoe’s antics. She’s my catnip.

Do your character names have special significance or meaning?

My main characters are Eva and Zoe – both their names mean “Life”. The Greek origin of the name Zoe, means “life,” and the Hebrew origin of the name Eva, also means “life.” I envisioned two major protagonists who would become each other’s new beginning during and after the tragedy of World War II when I wrote the first book in the Eva and Zoe series, In the Blood of the Greeks, in 2000 (Published in 2001).

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

Zoe would binge watch Xena: Warrior Princess (warriors, what can I say – also has a thing for dark hair, blue eyed women… she’s married to one) and Eva would watch I love Lucy (funny, smart, redheads are her fave – her wife is a redhead).

What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?

Zoe’s favorite book is Little Women (she’s in love with Jo, loves her spunk and can relate to her). Eva’s favorite book is The Time Machine by HG Wells (fantasy nerd).

What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

Zoe: her weapons (crossbow, gun or knives because she’s a warrior first), her romance novels and her wife Eva (for obvious reasons) – that’s all she needs.

One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it.

Zoe would take Eva into the mountains and hire a cabin surrounded by trees in winter. Their perfect romantic time away from the rest of the world.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

Zoe is Greek, and a glass of Retsina would be her choice; it reminds her of home, family and everything that gives her joy.

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

“Burning Love” by Elvis Presley – Zoe is a mad Elvis fan and pretty much describes her love for Eva who sets body on fire.
