Why this book and why now?

I’ve been a reader my whole life, but I only recently came to queer fiction. It was a real awakening. I started with YA LGBTQ+ fiction and then moved into adult and steamy adult. It was an incredible moment to suddenly feel something for the characters in the books I was reading and see myself in the stories. I wanted to create that feeling for others and so my journey started moving into writing queer fiction.

What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?

I started out knowing I wanted to write ‘steam’ but apparently, when that steam went onto the page, it turned into Spice with a capital S.

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

Anything competition related. Ninja Warrior, F1 Drive to Survive, the Olympics or The Queen’s Gambit.

What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

Katana swords because she’s a kick ass assassin and would use them to capture food or defend herself, Chance her YES/NO fate coin because she uses it to make trouble, and Quinn’s journal, so she could still speak to her even if only in writing.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

Honestly, the blood of her enemies! Failing that probably red wine or maybe brandy.

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

We are The Champions!
