Why this book and why now?
I started writing this series after my other series, Her First Knight, didn’t live up to my expectations. I wrote this to see if I could learn from my (many) mistakes.
I also wanted to write a knight themed fantasy story that was a little different. This is my third knight series, and in all of them, a bunch of butch female knights are chasing one feminine woman, usually a princess or a sorceress who is kind of a helpless damsel.
This time, the feminine woman (Salia) is a little tomboyish and also kicks butt. She still needs rescuing by the knights, but sometimes she rescues them.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
Yeah, I think I’d get along fine with the main cast. Kamryn is a fun person who likes to party, Fara is loyal and kind and doesn’t judge people (except Salia), and Salia starting catfights with other femmes would just make the party even better.
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
Fara would watch the latest soap opera, Kamryn would look at world wrestling, and Salia would watch the L Word. I don’t know why, but in my mind it just fits their personalities perfectly.
What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?
Kamryn would build a dummy to spar against for exercise, her favorite sword and armor. Fara would have a pack of cards and a pipe. Salia would want to have sweets, candy and cookies.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
Kamryn would choose that Prince song, Party Like It’s 1999 (or whatever). Salia and Fara would dance to whatever Kamryn wanted.
