Author Jess Newton recommends The Planck Paradox by Taryn J Dallas

Welcome to Authors Getting Rec’d! Each week, we’ll bring you a new sapphic book recommendation from a favorite sapphic author. Find out what authors are reading and why, plus read about the personal connections between authors and books.

This week, Jess Newton explains why The Planck Paradox is a must read.

Jess has read other works by this author in the other genre Taryn writes, so when they saw a romance novella with some of their favorite tropes, they had to give it a try! In addition to an excellent cover and blurb, Jess was won over by a workplace romance with teachers, an enemies to lovers plot, the butch/femme characters, and the opposites attract trope.

Let’s hear more from Jess about why The Planck Paradox is a must read:

This book is both cute and hot, with some adorable furry sidekicks. The school/workplace setting give great opportunities for subplots, and there’s great rep in the secondary characters. As a hard of hearing non-binary cat person I don’t often find books that tick all my boxes, but this one really does!

Jess Newton is the author of Keep it in the Family.

Here is one way Jess thought their book might relate to Taryn’s:

These books mark both of us stepping out of our comfort zone and writing in a different genre from usual. They also both have the butch/femme dynamic, which is another personal favourite of mine!

Thank you, Jess, for sharing what book is on your nightstand right now and paying it forward by showing some book love to a fellow SapphFic author!

About Jess Newton:

Jess fell into writing as a teenager, tempted by the dark world of fan fiction, but it wasn’t until they hit their thirties that they started seriously writing original works. Keep It In The Family is their first romance novel, publishing in February 2023, and their science fiction debut Posterity is out now. Outside of writing they enjoy theatre, music and dancing, indoor climbing and sitting in the garden of a pub. They have two children without fur and one with.
