Top Sapphic Books, KJ, Freebies, and More

Friday Feels Graphic
We’ve made it to another Friday and it’s time to celebrate!

Find out the top 3 sapphic books with the most clicks this week, 5 Random Things about sapphic author KJ, women loving women book freebies, and an adorable rescue dog named Gracie!

We’ve Almost Reached Our 1 Million Goal!

At the beginning of this year, we set a goal of hitting 1 million page views. Last year, we reached 615,875. We knew 1 million was ambitious, but TB is always saying we should keep reaching for the stars. What’s the worst that could happen? Even if we miss the target, we’ve still done everything we can to help readers find sapphic books, so it’s still a win.

We thought it would take all 12 months, but now it’s looking like we’ll hit 1 million page views sometime during the month of September. We love being ahead of schedule! In addition, we now have over 4,100 books in the BookFinder.

It’s been an amazing year and we’re happy and proud to do our part to help grow the sapphic fiction genre. We hope to be a small part of helping to fight the rising hate in the world, which sadly can have  violent and even deadly consequences.

Laura ‘Lauri’ Ann Carleton, a shop owner in California and LGBTQ+ ally, was killed for flying a Pride flag outside her store. She was a mother of 9. Our thoughts are with her family. You can read more about this tragedy here.

But we don’t want to leave you on a sad so we’ve started a new feature on Fridays.

5 Random Things with KJ Headshot

5 Random Things is our way of helping readers to get to know top sapphic book authors all the while having a bit of fun.

Here are five random facts about KJ.

1. I absolutely hate sand. Therefore, I hate the beach.

2. Baking is supposed to be precise but I take a slightly perverse glee in guessing the measurements.

3. I have three cats. Their names are Zyrtec, Claratin, and Sneeze.

4. I don’t like to eat lollies. Chocolate is my go to.

5. I don’t drink alcohol or soft drink. My favourite drink is Bickford’s Lemon Cordial.

Meet Gracie!

This is Gracie the sweetest rescue dog ever! Submitted by BB, a reader.

We’re introducing a new feature to Friday Feels. It can seem like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.

This week’s good news is about Aidan Hyman, a queer athlete, who held a Pride flag near the top of K2 in Pakistan. It’s the second highest mountain in the world and making the trek isn’t an easy feat. Also, Pakistan isn’t known for queer rights.

Aidan made this journey to celebrate his 20th birthday and to “show all queer people–yes you can.”

His next goal is Kilimanjaro and we’re cheering him on!

It’s an inspiring tale and you read more about it here.

That’s all for today.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
