Why this book and why now?

The inspiration for the novel was a “what-if” situation…what if a teenage girl was accidentally abandoned at a lakeside house by her parents, each thinking the other remained…and what if she met a beautiful girl dancing around a lantern…

Would you and your main character(s) get along?

Yes. I am a workaholic, too, and a large part of my career was as a freelance designer and photographer, so Robin’s goal of creating her own architecture company would be a similar ambition. One of the themes of the book is career vs. relationships–I get that struggle!

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

“Outlander” – the opening scene of the series, with the women dancing around the ancient stones, in firelight, would have great meaning for Robin (similar to what Stella did the night they met).

Aside from the obvious food and shelter, what 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?

A large sketchbook, pencil (to draw architectural plans), and a nice Sancerre wine.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book!

A French Champagne. It’s Robin’s favorite drink (and mine, too).

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

“Hello, Young Lovers,” from The King and I. Although this song is about an older widow observing a happy young couple, Robin might have felt this way for many years… missing her first love, Stella. A wistful, nostalgic song.
