Why this book and why now?

After ten years of successfully self-publishing lesbian fiction, it was time to share my experience, strength, and hope. Self-publishing has massively enhanced the lesbian fiction world. I want to see our genre grow and get stronger. I want to see authors control their work and enjoy the publishing process. I want readers to enjoy the fruits of our labors.

What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?

Writing this book really made me appreciate how much I really do know and the value of the knowledge I have. I know a lot!

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

This isn’t really applicable to this book, so I’m going to talk about what I’m binge watching right now: What We Do in the Shadows (hysterical cozy horror on Hulu) and Wipeout (ridiculous game show).

One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it.

For this book, I envision an author sitting down in front of a laptop. There’s candlelight. Pizza (thin crust tavern cut with pepperoni and giardiniera) is delivered. The other woman in the house pops open a bottle of champagne. She sits across at her own laptop. Together they write a beautiful story.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

The celebratory beverage is a steaming mug of Roastaroma tea. The flavor is hot and bold, like any writer who chooses to self-publish their story.
