1. Imogen, Obviously by Becky Albertalli
This book has a memorable cast of characters including Imogen’s love interest Tessa and I’m going to be thinking about this book for a long time. Imogen was a lot like me in high school, a people pleaser who thought she was straight. I really wished this book was available to me in high school because it would have helped me understand a lot more about myself.
2. Dial One for Revenge by Emma Brand
This was a fantastic read! It had such a unique storyline and was unlike anything else I’ve ever read before. I was pulled into this after death world and really enjoyed each character, especially the love interest Perrie. I flew through this book and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Really looking forward to the author’s next book!
3. Pride and Prejudice and Pittsburgh by Rachael Lippincott
This is such a cute take on Pride and Prejudice. You are rooting for the characters the whole time and want everything to work out in the end. Speaking of the end, I didn’t see how it was going to wrap up at all and loved it.
4. Monstrous by Jessica Lewis
Sapphic horror isn’t the typical genre that I read but I was really intrigued by the plot so I gave it a try and I’m so glad I did! I really enjoyed everything about this book. It was also way funnier than I expected. The main character is great and I love her sarcastic comments so much. I was sad when the book ended.
5. We Deserve Monuments by Jas Hammonds
I lost count of the number of times I cried reading this book. I loved every single aspect of it, especially the grandmother, Mama Letty. I would recommend this book for everyone to read. Not only is the message important but the writing is spectacular. I was so sad when it was over and can’t wait for the author’s next book.
