Why this book and why now?
The idea for this book hit me while I was writing “Please Lie to Me.” I immediately wanted to start writing it. My wife is an educator and I have a friend who is a sheriff in a small Texas County and one of the things they both dread is a bomb threat. I had plenty of input and suggestions on this one.
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
Yes I would get along beautifully with Sheriff Jet Trent. Most of the country is aware of how our Texas borders have been overrun by drug cartels and human traffickers. A very close friend had a horrible experience with an illegal migrant and my friend’s four-year-old daughter. I felt compelled to let others know more about what is happening in my state while sharing an HEA love story.
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
RFDS: ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE – Ton of action and great leading characters.
What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?
A gun, a knife and a horse. A loaded gun for protection. A knife for cutting wood for a fire and preparing food gotten with the gun. But most of all the horse so I could hightail it back to civilization.
Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

“She’s Like Texas.” My wife and I love to two-step to this song.
