Why this book and why now?
Watching a crime drama sparked the idea of a young journalist going undercover at a sex club. I can’t remember if it was a Silent Witness or something else. During our conversation, Cyan LeBlanc proposed that we cowrite his book on a lesbian cannibal story. We later decided it might be wise to stick to a love story narrative because I was starting out as an author. I discussed my idea with him and we began plotting Love In The Shadows.
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
I knew the plot would include BDSM, but I did not envisage the abduction. Through co-writing, I learned so much about the process of developing a story. It surprised me how the characters I created kind of told me where they wanted to go. Though we plotted ahead of time, sometimes they led us in a different direction. Ultimately, the story went a lot darker than I had originally anticipated.
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
Dylan would be into “Elementary” or “Big Bang Theory”. She’s very intelligent even though she tries to put on a tough chick attitude. I don’t see Ari as a binge watcher. I suppose if she had to veg out on the sofa she might watch “Orange Is The New Black.”
What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?
Oh, Dylan is a Cyan LeBlanc fan all the way! She would totally be into the “girl/Mistress series”, for sure. Ari, on the other hand, would be more into romance, but with some kink. Maybe a bit of Anna Stone’s “Irresistibly Bound series”.

Dylan would have a straight up single malt whisky. If you’ve read the book, you’d know Ari loves an “Old Fashioned”. Dylan would have them both covered with a nice bottle of Glenlivet.
