Why this book and why now?

I had such a lot of fun writing Dead Pretty and getting to create Dak and CJ. I’m just not done with their relationship or Dak’s exciting career. And this one has given me the opportunity to pull in characters from Let Love Be Enough to expand the universe – it’s so exciting!

Do your character names have special significance or meaning?

Dak’s parents and grandparents couldn’t agree on a name, so they all got to choose one: Daniella, Amy, and Kate. She doesn’t like any of them, so she took the first letter of them all and created her own name.

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

Dak secretly likes drag, so it’d likely be RuPaul’s Drag Race!

What’s your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?

CJ’s favourite book would be the memoir by Troy Donovan, my trans character from Let Love Be Enough, ghost-written by Madison, who is now one of CJ’s friends – she and Elodie (the movie star from the same book) become friends with Dak and CJ in Dead Ringer. CJ adores Madison’s writing, and she’s a fan of Troy’s.

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to party! Choose a celebratory beverage for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

Dak would likely stick to a salted caramel protein shake – she takes her body and working out very seriously. And she needs to in order to maintain that ripped physique of hers!

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

Dak would put “The Fighter” by Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. She sees herself as CJ’s protector and would do absolutely anything to keep her safe.

Meet Robyn Nyx

Robyn Nyx is an avid shutter-bug and lover of all things fast and physical. Her writing often reflects both of those passions. She writes lesbian fiction when she isn’t busy helping other people get their words out into the world. She lives with her soul mate and fellow scribe, Brey Willows – they have no cats or children, which allows them to travel to exotic places at the drop of a hat for research. She and her partner also run a community interest company helping marginalised groups to write, and get their stories heard. She tries hard to write daily, but can sometimes be distracted by blue skies and motorbike rides.
