Here are Kate’s top sapphic reads of 2024:
1. Alone by E. J. Noyes
The unique plot of this book is what originally drew me in (other than the fact that I will read anything E.J. Noyes writes). This was a bit of a slow build but it was written beautifully and the vulnerability of the characters is what really shines. Shout out to Abby Craden who narrated the audiobook. Her narration added even more depth to the already stunning story.
2. Hearing Red by Nicole Maser
Even if you don’t love a zombie apocalypses, you’ll love this book. The MCs are trying to survive in a chaotic, dangerous world and you slowly see the trust and love build between them.
3. Her Spell That Binds Me by Luna Oblonsky
Sapphic witches. Enemies to lovers. Beautiful world building. Need I say more?
4. Dancing in the Darkness by Lexa Luthor
This series may be a little niche. For those who are open to reading F/F omegaverse with G!p, you won’t regret picking up these books. This is hands down one of the best sci-fi series I’ve stumbled upon. You’ll be pulled into an epic tale expertly woven that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
5. Whistleblower by Jen Lyon
This is the conclusion to a slow burn, age gap series. The two MCs are from two different worlds that try to keep them apart. I also love reading books with a sports theme (especially soccer), but this was also a gut-wrenching and beautiful story that will have you tearing up at times. Be warned, you might find yourself finishing this book at 3am like I did.
