As the year came to a close, we had one burning question for book lovers everywhere: What were your top 5 sapphic reads of 2025?
Luckily our readers like to share! We look forward to passing along these recommendations to you daily into the new year.
Here are Pat’s top sapphic reads of 2025:
1. Discovering Nicola by Clare Ashton
I thought this was a very befitting finale of a terrific series. I was sad to see it end. Then blammo, Clare dropped Asking Kate as a Christmas surprise – a lovely novella that I didn’t know I wanted. Now I want more of Oxford.
2. Enemies by Nature by Jae
This includes the next book Shifting Nature as well. I always enjoy Jae’s books and these two are wonderful. The “epilogue” short story A Shape-Shifter’s Guide to Romancing a Human is a sweet treat well.
3. The Black Bird of Chernobyl by Ann McMan
Because I always have an Ann McMan book on my lists & deservedly so.
4. Midnight Rain by Haley Cass
An author takes one of her most, if not THE most beloved book and just blows it up. Who ferking does that? Haley Cass that’s who. And it was so good.
5. Woman of the Year by TB Markinson
Sometimes I want to spend time with a character who is even more in her head than I. That’s Lizzie. The wifey Sarah, kids and friends are great too, but I’m here for the Lizzie.
