Happy weekend!
Saturdays are when we curate all the sapphic book news and queer happenings of the week into one convenient location. Think of it as your personal reading directory! After all, we know the weekend is when so many of us are able to unwind for a minute and want to get lost in a good woman loving woman book. What could be better?
In today’s post, you’ll find cheerful LGBTQ+ news stories to combat all the negative ones bombarding our screens.
Jess Skultety, a sapphic author, shares a Caturday photo of a sweet rescue with a really long name.
One of the things we love about the weekly author selfie is getting to know the personality behind the words. Check out the picture of Kate Merrill with Lost Girls Club.
If you’re looking for something to read this weekend, below you’ll find 7 books on sale.
Finally, scroll to the bottom of the post to see photos of TB in historical dresses.
We’re grateful to Hiyodori for sponsoring today’s post. Please check out Amity in the House of Her Enemy.
It’s time to reveal the identity of this week’s Guess the Author!
Every week we provide five clues about a sapphic author. On Saturday, we reveal the author’s identity.
Before we unveil this week’s author, here are all 5 clues in case you missed them:
1. I have synesthesia which for me means that when I think of a number/letter/word etc, they come with a certain color.
2. As a child, I used to read a lot of young adult mysteries (often featuring kidnappings) which clearly inspired what I write today.
3. One of my releases this year was a co-authored with another sapphic author, and my research included yoga poses.
4. I used to write fanfiction in a small fandom which is how I met my wife. IYKYK. 🙂
5. I love the beach, but Christmas is my favorite holiday. Binging Hallmark movies is a must (especially since they’ve added sapphic characters over the years).
Now it’s time to reveal their name. Drum roll please…
This week’s author is Barbara Winkes!
Check out Isle of Dreams: Belonging, Barbara’s new release!
Belonging begins with one brave choice.
Celebrity chef Marley Devito built her career on the joy of good food. Lately, she can barely feel it. She arrives at the Isle of Dreams hoping for a reset and instead runs straight into the one woman she never quite forgot.
YouTube yoga sensation Bri Brady buried her high school crush on Marley years ago. Now, surrounded by wedding celebrations and turquoise water, old feelings ignite fast.
Meanwhile, undercover detective Dylan Hayes isn’t on the island by chance. She’s tracking a potential threat. Falling for someone was never part of the plan.
Dr. Juliet Carson came to the island exhausted from overthinking her life. She promised herself this trip would be simple with no analysis and no attachments. Then she meets Dylan.
As attraction deepens and tensions rise, a suspicious guest turns paradise into possible danger. Instincts may save lives, but they will force all four women to decide what they truly want.
Co-written by bestselling authors KC Luck and Barbara Winkes, return to the world of Isle of Dreams in this romantic suspense filled with second chances, emotional healing, wedding drama, and two unforgettable love stories.
