Before we get to today’s Friday Feels Fun post, it’s time for Guess the Author
Every week, we’ll provide five clues about a sapphic author. This game helps readers get to know their favorite authors while having fun.
Here is today’s clue:
Clue #5: To research for my latest book, I started taking cold showers (because one of my MCs did so) thinking it was something that only adrenaline-junkies would enjoy… and now I actually like it and do it all the time. (By cold showers I mean warm showers with a minute or two of cold at the end. 😂)

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE
It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.
This week’s good news involves a nun
For the past two years, an 81-year-old nun from St. Louis has dedicated herself to supporting Catholic parents as they work to affirm and stand by their transgender children.
Sister Nancy Corcoran, a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, organizes weekly gatherings where roughly two dozen parents come together to share their experiences and discuss the difficulties of raising transgender children amid an increasingly hostile political and religious climate in the United States.
Corcoran emphasized that the group’s sole purpose is to help parents support and affirm their transgender children. Conversations focused on preventing children from expressing their identities are not permitted.
She did not always accept transgender identities herself. However, her perspective shifted about a decade ago after meeting an openly transgender student. Wanting to better understand the experiences of trans people, she spent a two-year sabbatical traveling across the United States and learning from the transgender community.
When a parent who was in need of connection with other affirming Catholic parents, Corcoran began hosting the Friday dinners.
