Bad Company

The Ascension Series, Book 8

By L. Fergus

“Either you make friends to protect what’s yours, or you die.” —Fiend

Some people won’t stay dead. Kita’s nemesis, Angus, is like a nuclear cockroach. After he invades Kita’s space station, she learns a hard lesson about protecting what is hers. She needs better friends than an ex who despises her and a sister who hates her. When Angus double-crosses her wayward friend Anthrax, Kita invites the Angel and her barbarian friend home—if Kita still has a home.

After the Red Legion moves into Arabia, Kita makes a deal with the Shiek: if he switches sides, she’ll improve his region with far-future tech. Before he agrees, Kita must defeat the invading Red Legion army led by their best general. Kita agrees but needs help and doesn’t know where to find it. However, the activities in Arabia have attracted the world’s best assassins, and Kita makes it her mission to recruit them—by proving she’s the best.

When Kita receives a distress call from her city administrator, she and her new friends venture deep into the mountains to rescue her abducted citizens. What they find is a massive army of giant ravagers—boarmen, wolfmen, and dinosaurs—the remnants of an army Kita defeated years ago, but they were smaller. Now, they’ve overgrown and starving. Has Kita found the army to tip the scales in Arabia? Can she feed them and defeat their massive leader to gain their friendship?

The answer lies with Anthrax. She says Angus’ lair is part of the lost colony spaceship and has the resources Kita needs. Kita gathers her new friends and sets out to defeat a ship full of monsters and Angus, knowing failure means losing everything.

If you love anime, girls, and action, you’ll love BAD COMPANY.

Will Kita fall to her nemesis, capture the lost colony ship to feed the ravagers and save Arabia, or become food?
