The lock is the key...

Just when Aeron thought she could enjoy a vacation and relax with her superior officer, Commander Renee Black, a flash sees her back on duty.

General Ursula Frei is MIA with one of the Caprock Kids, Jessie. Aeron knows Frei is hurt and struggling but there are some extra complications:

As Frei is head of C.I.G, her disappearance triggers an internal investigation by the FBI who don’t realize that half of C.I.G belongs to the military. They also don’t know that Renee is alive.

If the Internal Affairs find out about Aeron’s past, Renee, Frei taking a minor off base or that there is a military element to the corps, it will be disbanded.

The extra complication is that the head of the Internal Affairs team is Agent Abby Fleming… Renee’s ex-fiancé also happens to believe Renee is still MIA.

So, Aeron and Renee take to the road guided by a lock that Frei has left in Aeron’s jacket. Each time she touches the lock, she sees another memory from Frei’s agonizing past and relives every moment that made Frei the icy general they know.

However, each memory is draining Aeron…
Her past is hunting Frei as she struggles to get Jessie to safety…
Internal Affairs are on their tail…
Oh, and Aeron can’t heal anyone…
