Paleontologist Dr. Veronica Hill has just returned from a dig in New Zealand, where her most interesting find was not a fossil, but a mysterious artifact of unknown origin. What was an intricate brass mechanism doing buried alongside 150 million-year-old dinosaur bones?

Museum janitor Jonna Clarke has a curious mind, a knack for adapting to any situation, and a mad crush on the High Falutin’ Fossil Goddess. Even though she knows that Dr. Hill is way out of her league, it doesn’t stop her from wanting to catch a glimpse of the sexy professor before her workday is over.

A few harsh words, a misplaced hand, and a swirling beam of light later, both women get more than they bargained for when they wake up elsewhere. Veronica thinks it looks just like Pitfall Cave in New Zealand. The exact location where she excavated the brass, bedialed mechanism. But after a quick look around, Dr. Hill knows not only where they are, but when.

While Veronica is living her fantasy, Jonna has never been more skewered by reality. Navigating a prehistoric landscape is not a skill set most humans have, but Jonna knows that some survival tactics are universal. Food, water, shelter. And as she quickly realizes, someone has to protect Veronica while she makes goo-goo-eyes at her living fossils.

With danger coming at them from all directions—land, air, sea, the future, and the past—will Veronica’s scientific mind combined with Jonna’s unique intelligence help them survive the primitive landscape of Jurassic New Zealand? Can they ever find a way back home?
