Valentine’s Day Sale & Mini Reading Challenge Invite

For AuthorsWe hope 2024 is off to a great start!

Here’s the latest author update about upcoming happenings on I Heart SapphFic.

99c Valentine’s/Anti-Valentine’s Sale

We’re organizing a 99c Valentine’s Sale, however, we know not everyone loves the holiday.

So there will be two dedicated parts to the sale.

Part One will include romances, rom coms, erotica, or books with love at the heart of the story.

Part Two will be anti-Valentine’s. Think books that have nothing to do with romance, like mysteries, space opera, serial killers, etc.

Authors can submit 3 books and, on the form, you must tick which part you want your book(s) listed with: Valentine’s or anti-Valentine’s.

The deadline to submit is February 10.

Here’s the form to submit your book to the sale.

Around the World in 80 Days Mini Reading Challenge

We’re kicking off a mini-reading challenge that will showcase books set around the world. Basically, this means books that don’t take place in the United States. Don’t worry US peeps, this summer will be a separate mini challenge featuring books from all the states.

Right now, we’re only collecting information on books set outside of the US for the Around the World in 80 Days Mini-Reading Challenge.

Each day from March 1 thru May 19, we’ll feature a different non-US destination on an 80-day reading trip around the world.

Over 50% of the book must take place outside of the US. The point of the challenge is for readers to travel the world through books.

You may only submit one book per pen name per country, but there is no limit to how many books you may submit as long as they are set in different countries.

For the purposes of this challenge, we can only accept books with real settings on Earth (no settings in space or fantasy worlds).

You may also submit books set primarily on a ship, on a train traveling across multiple non-US countries, or in the air on a plane or hot air balloon flying through non-US airspace.

Books may be set in any time period and may also take place in an alternate timeline as long as the setting is recognizable as a real place. (For example, steampunk Victorian London or San Francisco if Japan had won World War II.)

On the form, please give as much information as you can to help us map out the “itinerary” for this challenge.

Here are some possible examples:

Paris, France, Europe
Temuco, Chile, Patagonia, South America
Ship, Nile River, Africa

If your book takes place on a ship at sea, on an airplane, a hot air balloon, a train, or another setting that defies categorization, please fill in the line for “other” with an explanation.

The sooner you can submit your information the better.

Submit your book(s) here.

Advertising Budget Bundles

Based on the popularity of our Summer Ad Bundle this year, we are introducing quarterly budget ad bundles for 2024. These bundles offer 12 weeks of ads for a reduced price and are perfect for boosting visibility of backlist titles, or when the exact timing of the ad is not a priority.

Here is how it works:

1. Buy a Budget Bundle for $30, which can begin January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1
2. Advertise between 1-3 books per bundle (one book for 12 weeks, 2 books for 6 weeks each, or 3 books for 4 weeks each).
3. The exact start and stop dates for the ads will be determined by us and based on availability, but you will always get a total of 12 weeks of advertising on IHS’s website sometime during the quarter.
4. Your budget ads will also receive one newsletter placement each in the bottom slot of one of our weekly newsletters sometime during the quarter you selected.

Budget Bundles have been added to the advertising form and can be reserved now for any quarter in 2024, including Jan 1.
