Today is World Soil Day

World Soil Day
Without healthy soil, we wouldn’t have food!

The UN General Assembly has declared December 5 World Soil Day, a day to recognize the importance of healthy soil in producing food. It’s also the birthday of the late King of Thailand, who was instrumental in championing this cause. (As a side note, King Bhumibol Adulyadej was born in Massachusetts, home of IHS Headquarters!) To mark this day, we’ve selected three books that feature farming or gardening.
