Today is Ellis Island Day

Ellis Island Day
On this day in 1892, the first immigrants made their way through Ellis Island in New York.

Between 1892 and 1954, about 17 million people would be processed through Ellis Island on their way to a new life in America. The immigration station is now a museum, part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument. In honor of Ellis Island, we have chosen three sapphic books with characters who are immigrants.
