Why this book and why now?

As both a non-binary person and a former aerialist, I think this book has lived in my heart for a long time. There was no perfect time for it; it just had to come out.

Would you and your main character(s) get along?

I think Sofia is the type of person who gets along with everyone. Phoenix would appreciate that I tip well and don’t talk when I go to Cuppers to get a latte for some writing time.

What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?

Phoenix has an unhealthy addiction to trashy reality TV shows that we get a glimpse of in the book, so I think for them the answer would be something like “Too Hot to Handle” or “FBoy Island.”

One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it.

Sofia would be the queen of romantic gestures, while still respecting that Phoenix really isn’t one for flashy gestures. I think she’d split the difference and strew the floor with rose petals leading to a shared bubble bath and some wine. A quiet but romantic evening.

What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?

This book would have gotten nowhere with “Circus” by Britney Spears (thank you, queen). Sofia would definitely have that blasting at a book launch party.
