Miss Havisham Says Yes
by Eule Grey
Released: Jan 28, 2023
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Why this book and why now?
I wanted to write a book based around Cinderella, so I came up with the idea of an anthology about cleaners… However, Miss Havisham Says Yes turned out way too long and thus became a novella. As well, I fancied a fresh start for a new year and decided to dedicate 2023 to Romance!
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
To begin with it was a Christmas-themed book but it morphed into a Valentines 🙂
Would you and your main character(s) get along?
Yes, definitely! Cindi is a sweetheart with a poor background. I do think we see too many characters in queer books who come from rich, perfect backgrounds. She is always positive and smiley and she loves the 80s pop star Blondie. Just like me 🙂
Do your character names have special significance or meaning?
Cindi = Cinderella. Tara = Lara Croft.
One of your main characters is planning a romantic night. Tell us about it.
Cindi would plan the night based around budget. She’d probably ask her Gran to help her sew a pretty little dress and would then cook a meal and invite Tara for dinner. In the background she’d play Blondie songs. Both characters adore the simple things in life.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
Atomic by the 80s pop star Blondie. Cindi adores Blondie and plays her songs while cleaning.
