Why this book and why now?
This book because I LOVE writing celebrity romance stories. I always wanted to be an actress growing up so I think celebrity books are fulfilling that fantasy for me.
Why now? Because why not? In all seriousness, though, I relate a lot of Eve and Jemma. Jemma because due to my disability I’ve very used t0 the idea of people only wanting to hang out with me just to see what I can get from me, and I’ve had a number of people try to date me for similar reasons.
I want people like me to know there are genuine, nice people out there who will love them no matter what. And I relate to Eve because I tried to ignore my sexuality for a long time, but when I embraced it I was so much happier. Its never too late to be yourself.
What is a significant way your book has changed since either the first draft or the way you thought it would turn out when you first had the inspiration?
For one, it was supposed to be a 20K novella, not a full novel!
What TV show would your main character(s) most likely binge watch and why?
Eve would binge The Bachelorette and The Mandalorian because as bad as those reality shows are at matching genuine couples it’s fun to watch them try (and a good place to hunt for clients ;)), and she’s a closet nerd. Jemma would binge Queer Eye–who doesn’t love a good cinderella style makeover show?
What 3 things would your main character want with them if they got stranded away from civilization, and why?
Hmmm, good one!
Jemma, books, her cat Kiki and her PS 5… Wait does Eve count? Cause definitely Eve.
Eve – Jemma, WIFI, and Netflix. Not even a desert island would stop her from playing matchmaker.
What song does your character put on to start your book launch party?
Eve puts on Daisies by Katy Perry – everyone told her she’d never be a successful matchmaker or find love, and now she has both!
