Volunteer Recognition Day is a day to honor, recognize, and celebrate the amazing individuals who give up their personal time and energy to help others and promote good causes.
Volunteers are so inspiring because they give their time, energy, and resources, without expecting compensation or even appreciation for their efforts. Volunteers can be found everywhere: soup kitchens, hospitals, retirement homes, and war zones. The Red Cross, one of the most well known volunteering organizations of all time, was founded in response to war. Along with celebrating volunteers, Volunteer Recognition Day also throws out the challenge to get out of your comfort zone and volunteer.
