Independent Bookstore Day celebrates independent bookstores around the U.S. and their unique contributions to the book world.
The importance and value of books are still a priority for many. This is the spirit in which we celebrate Independent Bookstore Day. The oldest known bookstore is in Portugal and has been operational for almost 300 years. Bookstores once only catered to the wealthy. Now they can be found in almost every community and can play a significant role in community social events such as hosting book clubs and author signings.
