Pet of the Week!

Meet Millie brown dog

Meet Millie! Millie loves to visit me in the office when I’m writing, but mostly just to bring me the ball. A typical Cocker Spaniel, she’s obsessed. I find myself falling over at least three a day, and often find them on my bed! Submitted by author Emily Wright.

QUEER NEWS THAT’LL MAKE YOU SMILE

It can seem sometimes like all the news these days is bad. We won’t deny there’s a lot of troubling things going on, including a rise in hate crimes. But it’s not all terrible out there! We want to do our best to highlight good news, because while it may seem like the world is filled with hate, there are many individuals who are living their best lives with a rainbow in their heart.

This week’s good news involves Florida.

In support of trans athletes, Monarch High School students walked out of class and held a demonstration on the school’s athletic field. Their signs proclaimed, “Trans lives matter” and “Trans rights are human rights.”

With the rise of anti-LGBTQ+ bills at the state level, it’s important for all of us to speak up. We applaud the students at Monarch High School.

That’s all for today.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
