When the end of the year drew near, we had one question we wanted to ask book lovers the world over. What were your top 5 sapphic reads of 2023?

Luckily our readers like to share! We look forward to passing along these recommendations to you daily into the new year.

Here are Mary’s top sapphic reads of 2023:

1. Magdalene Nox by Milena McKay

It is so good to hear Magdalene’s side of the story! She has gone through so much in her life. I enjoyed seeing the same scenes from her perspective, and of course wanted to know her full story. McKay’s writing is awesome as usual, 5 stars!

2. These Thin Lines by Milena McKay

I read the book twice already and have just listened to the audio – Abby Craden is outstanding! I loved both characters and was so glad when they both forgave each other*finally*! They were both in anguish about what had happened, or what they thought had happened. I was surprised by who the villain was. I enjoyed how other of McKay’s characters were in the book as well.

3. Chaos Agent by Lee Winter

This book was great! Eden figures out what The Fixers really do and is horrified. Michelle is portrayed really well also. She feels terrible about many of her previous decisions. Lee Winter’s books are amazing; the writing is great, you care about the characters and you want everything to work out for both of them.

4. Meeting Millie by Clare Ashton

It’s always a good sign when I read a book and immediately read it again! This was one of those books. I enjoyed the characters, loved the cover. I read it first on KU, then bought my own copy.

5. CeCe Sloan Is Swooning by Jamey Moody

This was a very happy book, I was in a good mood the whole time reading it. I liked CeCe and Alexis, I loved how characters from other of the author’s works appeared in the book, loved the cover!
